Being Honest About AI-Created Imagery

Hey everyone!
I wanted to take a moment to talk about something that’s been on my mind lately: the use of AI-created imagery in the creative process. As I work on The Ardinock Chronicles and other projects, I’ve started using AI tools to help me visualize and ideate. It’s an amazing way to get my thoughts out quickly, explore different possibilities, and build the world I'm trying to create. But here’s the thing—I believe it’s really important to be upfront and honest about this process.

Recently, I unveiled a teaser trailer to introduce The Ardinock Chronicles, focusing on setting the tone. I incorporated visuals from Midjourney and utilized Runway to enhance these visuals. The voice-over and script are authentic, while I personally edited the sound effects and purchased the music. This approach reflects my ability to effectively achieve my creative vision. However, this represents just the initial phase of the project.

AI-generated images can be a fantastic tool for brainstorming and world-building. They help me get a sense of what I’m looking for and refine the style and feel I want to achieve in my projects. However, I want to make it clear that any AI-generated art you see from me is purely for inspiration and idea generation. It’s not the final product, and it’s not meant to replace the incredible work of human artists.
I’m lucky to know quite a few talented artists, and I already have a good idea of the art style I want for my projects. When it comes time to release something, you can bet it’s going to be hand-created art. There’s something about the human touch, the soul, and the unique perspective that an artist brings to the table that AI just can’t replicate. Art should lay in the hands of an artist—that’s a core belief of mine.
So, if you ever see me post AI-generated work, just know it’s part of my creative process, not the end result. And if it ever seems like something I share pulls too closely from your own work, please let me know! I believe in giving credit where it’s due and respecting the creativity of others. We’re all in this together, trying to make cool things and share our visions with the world.
AI has its place as a tool for inspiration, but the heart of any project will always be the humans who bring it to life. I’m excited to continue this journey and work with some amazing artists to bring The Ardinock Chronicles and other stories to their full potential.
Thanks for understanding and for being part of this creative adventure with me!
Cheers,
Justin
